As reported by the agriculture oil association, in the 2023/24 season an increase in the internal processing of oil crops by 3.5 million tons is predicted, with the increase coming from sunflower seeds – 1.4 million tons, soybeans – 1.4 million tons, and rapeseed – 800,00 tons.
“One of the features of the current marketing year is a significant increase in the domestic processing of rapeseed and, accordingly, an increase in the production and export of rapeseed oil and meal,” the association noted.
According to the data, domestic rapeseed processing can reach a record mark of one million tons. Also, in the current marketing year it is predicted that the processing of sunflower seeds will increase to 13.5 million tons, and sunflower oil production will increase to six million tons, exceeding the pre-war season by more than 3%.
Sunflower oil production in 2023 will increase to 5.8 million tons (11.5% increase over 2021), and exports will increase to 5.5-5.6 million tons (10%). These projections are realistic, assuming the absence of any export restrictions.
