As of February 2, Ukraine’s power system generating capacity is sufficient to cover about 80% of consumers’ electricity needs. The loss of generation capacity in the aftermath of the Russian missile attacks and emergency repairs to two blocks of power plants was compensated for by the return to operation of one of the blocks and the increase in electricity production by hydroelectric plants. Ukrenergo also reported that at two substations in the eastern and central regions of the country the repair of transformer equipment damaged by rocket attacks in the fall has been completed. Preparations for inclusion into operations are currently underway. This will allow the power plant units to begin producing electricity.
