Ukrainian company Energo-Plus plans to purchase a closed thermal power plant with a capacity of 60 MW in a neighboring country and transport it to Ukraine. The project will cost approximately €50M. This power plant was built in 2016-2018 but was never put into operation due to high gas prices in the country where it is located. Currently, it is 90% ready, with all the necessary components already in place. It could take 8-12 months to transport the thermal power plant and put it into operation.

At the same time, in the Zhytomyr region this year the number of private enterprises that have installed solar power generation increased from six to 20. One example is the 108 solar panels, with a total capacity of 62 kW, that were installed on the roof of the Stanyshivka Vegetable Plant, allowing the enterprise to save almost ₴300,000 while providing up to 40% of the business’ power consumption. The cost of the solar energy system is about ₴1.23M, and it return its investment in three years.
