Ukrainian businesses have already received loans sufficient to launch 200 MW of generation, and the Ministry of Energy is confident Ukraine will add 1 GW of distributed generation.

Ukrainian businesses have already received loans sufficient to launch 200 MW of generation, and the Ministry of Energy is confident Ukraine will add 1 GW of distributed generation.

According to the NBU, from June to September the majority of borrowed funds were for the purchase and installation of gas-piston cogeneration plants (96 MW), the purchase of diesel and gasoline generators (51 MW), and the construction of SPPs (49 MW).

In September, Ukrainians were granted 1,100 loans with a total volume of ₴133M, contributing to a ₴204M gross loan portfolio related to household energy needs. Since June, banks have received 2,484 business applications for ₴54.8B ($1.3B) in energy infrastructure restoration project financing. Applications for ₴7.9B in loans have already been approved. The volume of the gross portfolio of loans related to commercial energy needs is ₴2B.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy announced that Ukraine will receive equipment by the end of the year that will provide more than 1 GW in additional distributed generation capacity.
