The United States Development Finance Corporation (DFC), an agency of the US federal government, is ready to lend money to Ukrainian businesses within the framework of individual projects in amounts ranging from $1M to $1B. As Deputy Minister of Economy Oleksandr Hryban said, the DFC usually supports only American investors. However, in Ukraine’s case, an exception was made and the DFC is ready to issue loans, even in the absence of an American investor in the Ukrainian business. The DFC will support Ukraine with several different financial instruments. In addition to direct lending, they are ready to provide coverage for credit risks and to insure against political risks through the utilization of tools for mitigating military risk. In addition, the DFC is ready to issue financial grants to companies that are considered promising.
