Trade negotiations between Ukraine and Poland continue not only between governments but also at the level of agricultural associations. As a result, Ukraine reached an agreement on exporting chicken meat, eggs, honey, sugar, berries, and apple concentrate, but a memorandum on grain was not signed, said the head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Forum (UAF), Maria Didukh.
In particular, the parties reached a common vision regarding quotas for supplying Ukrainian chicken and eggs to the EU. As for honey, Poland supports the initiative to return quotas and exclude them from the free trade regime in the EU. The issue of supplying fresh and frozen Ukrainian raspberries to the EU and Poland was raised separately. Grain, wheat, corn, sunflower, and rapeseed will not be supplied to Poland and four other EU countries but will go through them in transit.
Agrarian associations came close to signing a memorandum that stipulated that after fulfilling previously signed contracts, Ukraine would no longer send grain through Poland in transit. However, Deputy Minister Michal Kolodziejczak disrupted this stage of negotiations.
