Ukrainian and Polish businesses are working on a solution to unblock the border starting February 1.

The Federation of Employers of Ukraine has published the results of negotiations between Polish and Ukrainian business representatives regarding the reopening of the border crossings.

“One of the proposals is to develop, by February 1, 2024, mutually equal admission of carriers to the Polish and Ukrainian transportation markets. At the same time, the strikers should take steps to unblock the border,” the Federation of Employers of Ukraine said in a statement.

A meeting of Polish and Ukrainian ministers will be held in Warsaw to review some of the developments regarding this issue by Polish and Ukrainian businesses.

Moreover, the Ukrainian and Polish governments must commit in writing to develop tools and methods for regulating the international transport market after the end of the transport visa-free period on June 30, 2024. If the Polish contingent is satisfied with the new market regulation conditions, they will no longer block the border after February 1.
