SkyUp Airlines, Azur Air Ukraine, Windrose, and Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) received more than UAH 60.7 M ($2.23 M) for evacuating Ukrainians from abroad in March 2020 due to the beginning of the spread of Covid-19, announced the Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kurbakov. These flights departed from Ukraine without passengers as well as without commercial loading. I am very grateful to the Ukrainian airlines for the fact that they were able to respond to global challenges as quickly as possible,” said Kurbakov.
Ukrainian Airlines have received compensation for evacuation services.
UIA has started a charter program with a Polish tour operator.
