The 1,000 largest Ukrainian enterprises generated nearly ₴7.2T in net income in 2023, 19.4% more than a year earlier. These companies sold 54% of Ukraine’s total production volume (52% in 2022). In 2023, 23% of the top 1,000’s composition differed from the previous year. 233 enterprises left the list due to a drop in turnover, bankruptcy, or destruction. The economic sectors with the most representatives are the food industry (139 companies), the oil and gas industry (115), the electric power industry (104), and agriculture (97). Enterprises in the oil sector produced the largest total income – ₴1.2T (16.8%). Next comes energy – ₴15.9% and retail trade – 10.6%. The largest portion of Ukrainian companies are located in Kyiv – 412 enterprises that generate almost 52% of the total income. Large businesses from the industrial centers of the Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Lviv, and Odesa regions received another 27% of net income. The newest companies on the list are businesses in gambling and lotteries, architecture and engineering, electricity, oil and gas, and the hotel and restaurant industry.
