The Ministry of Finance forecasts an increase in Ukraine’s state budget deficit from $2.7B in March to $5-7B in April and May, stated Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko in an interview with the Financial Times. “We are in a state of great stress, in the worst condition. This is a matter of survival of our country,” the minister said. According to him, the estimate of infrastructure losses due to the war has risen to $270B, while in late March, we called the figure at $120B. He added, “More than 7,000 houses have been destroyed or damaged. About 30% of Ukrainian enterprises have stopped working, and 45% are working part-time.”
