Ukraine’s state and state-guaranteed debt as of January 31 2023 amounted to UAH 4.258.2T or $116.4B. According to the Ministry of Finance, the amount of debt increased during January in hryvnia, equivalent to UAH 185.35B or $5.06B. In January, the government’s foreign currency accounts at the National Bank received $4.33B. This included $3.26B from the EU, and $1B from the US. In addition, for the first two months of 2023, Ukraine’s state budget had a deficit in the amount of UAH 161.1B. Actual state borrowing from the state budget’s general fund for January – February 2023 amounted to UAH 226.8B ($6.2B), or 58.8% of the planned amount for this period.
