Ukraine’s government imposed wideranging sanctions yesterday against Dmytro Firtash, owner of much of Ukraine’s nitrogen, titanium and regional gas distribution companies.

President Zelenskiy’s decree is a frontal attack on one of Ukraine’s top 10 oligarchs. As posted on the presidential website, the decree blocks assets, restricts trade operations, stops money transfers and flights through Ukraine, prevents the withdrawal of capital from Ukraine, suspends financial obligations, and cancels subsoil use permits.
