Ukraine’s EU candidate status is one step closer.

This week, the European Commission plans to hand over a questionnaire to Ukraine, which is a necessary step for Ukraine to become a candidate. According to Deputy Prime Olga Stefanishina, “We expect that this week there will be positive news about the next steps that must be taken to obtain Ukraine’s candidate status,” speaking of the questionnaire. Stefanishina stressed that the government has been preparing draft responses to the standard questionnaires for the past two weeks, so it is ready to respond officially in a very short time. She is convinced that the European Commission will confirm Ukraine’s candidate status in response.
