Ukraine claimed Sunday it had improved its “tactical position” in its defense against Russia in the south and has achieved “partial success” in its counteroffensive in the Tavria area.
In the past 24 hours, Russian troops shelled nine regions of Ukraine, with various weapons attacking 40 villages and hitting infrastructure, according to the Ukrainian military. In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian forces continued to focus their primary efforts on preventing the advance of Ukraine troops. They carried out air strikes in Orikhiv, Novodanylivka, and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The enemy is making significant efforts to stop the Ukrainian army from advancing but is also suffering heavy losses in manpower, weapons, and equipment, a spokesperson for Ukrainian forces in Tavria said.
Moreover, in the direction of Bakhmut, the Defense Forces are holding the initiative, continuing their assaults, and have liberated up to 1,000 meters on the southern and northern flanks around Bakhmut.
