Ukraine now joins the EU’s single market program, justice program, and civil program. Soon, Ukrainians will be able to apply for funding and to support various investment projects. This means more support for small businesses within Ukraine’s market, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. In addition, the EU will open a Horizon Europe office in Kyiv by the middle of the year in order to promote EU funding opportunities, offer technical support to Ukrainian researchers and innovators, and strengthen ties between Ukrainian and European institutions. The countries also agreed on a 15-point road map for Ukraine’s access to the EU’s internal market.
