Ukraine will abolish customs duties on goods in the association agreement with the EU.

The EC has already supported maintaining this status until June 2025, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.

“We not only expect the rapid approval of this initiative by all EU members but also consider it important to enshrine a completely free trade regime in the Association Agreement itself. This is one of the main directions of our work this year in trade relations with the EU,” he noted.

“The main goal is to integrate Ukraine into the EU internal market. We see that sharp changes in trade flows can cause misunderstandings. Therefore, our joint task is to ensure open and barrier-free trade that will meet the interests of both producers from Ukraine and the EU,” Shmyhal added.

For the same reasons, it is crucial to continue the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU on freight transportation by road (transport visa-free).
