The Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Yaroslav Demchenkov, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of Slovakia, Peter Shvets, discussed the possibilities of expanding Slovak business activity in the Zakarpattia region, in particular, expanding the potential of wind generation.

According to Demchenkov, “There is a strong export-import potential between our countries, and we are working on expanding energy corridors and creating infrastructure projects of common interest, both in the electric power and gas sectors, including renewable gases.”

Due to the war, more than 200 enterprises from other regions of the country have relocated to Transcarpathia, because of which electricity consumption in the area is increasing.
