Ukraine supports the restoration of e-declaration

On July 27, the Ukrainian Parliament supported a draft law on the restoration of electronic declaration, which is one of the criteria for further movement on Ukraine’s accession to the EU. The draft law also provides that the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption will resume special checks of declarants, and the register of e-declarations will be open even during martial law, but without the publication of personal data.

The restoration of the electronic declaration requirement for Ukrainian officials is a crucial component of the seven candidate criteria of the European Commission on the fight against corruption. Ukraine undertook to fulfill them to start negotiations on joining the EU.

EU Ambassador to Ukraine Matti Maasikas advised Ukraine to renew e-declaration for officials after an interim assessment of the implementation of the seven recommendations by the European Commission.
