During his working visit to France, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron signed a 10-year agreement on cooperation in security, which is a continuation of the Vilnius Declaration from the Group of Seven. The agreement will provide for the allocation of €3B for Ukraine’s defense this year, support from Paris for Ukraine’s full membership in NATO, and the application of sanctions against Russia.
Zelenskyy signed a similar agreement with Chancellor Olaf Scholz during his visit to Germany. That agreement states that Germany will provide Ukraine with over €7B in military aid this year.
Similarly, the head of the Danish government said that the northern European countries seek to join security agreements with Ukraine as soon as possible. Zelenskyy and Mette Frederiksen discussed possible dates to sign a bilateral security agreement in Munich.
In the same place, the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Støre, announced that he was ready to sign a security agreement with Ukraine.
