On July 6, Russia claimed to have neutralized 120 Ukrainian drones overnight. Due to air attack threats, some flights were canceled, disrupting airports.
On July 5, Ukrainian Defense Forces targeted the Borisoglebsk airfield in Voronezh, which hosts Su-34, Su-35S, and Su-30SM aircraft. The attack damaged a warehouse storing guided bombs, a training aircraft, and possibly other planes.
Ukrainian drones also attacked Engels airfield.
On that same day, Ukraine also struck the VNDIR-Progress institute in Cheboksary, 1,200 km from Ukraine’s border, which develops electronic warfare systems like the Comet antenna arrays used to suppress satellite, radio, and radar signals, and is employed in Shahed drones, Iskander-K missiles, and guided bombs.
Additionally, on July 5 a main gas pipeline near Vladivostok supplying several Russian military sites exploded, along with a water pipeline providing drinking water to military garrisons.
On July 4, a drone damaged the Azov Optical-Mechanical Plant in Azov city, which produces military components like sights, rangefinders, thermal systems, and fire control equipment for various military vehicles and vessels.
Ukrainian unmanned units also targeted the FNPC Scientific Research Institute of Applied Chemistry in Sergiev Posad, Moscow Region, which manufactures thermobaric warheads for Shahed UAVs.
