Ukrainian Railways has completed the reconstruction of two sections in the Lviv region that connect Khyriv with the border points of Starzava and Nyzhankovychi (state border with Poland). This will make it possible to launch a Polish Railways passenger train for transit through Ukraine in the future, reducing the travel distance from the border town of Krościenko, Bieszczady County to Przemyśl by 80%. The passenger train from Krościenko will be launched after the Cabinet of Ministers approves two border crossings with Poland (in Starzava and Nyzhankovychi). The project’s implementation will allow for a significant increase in the capacity at the western border, in particular, the Polish direction.
