According to the volume of agricultural imports to the EU in the period from January to October 2023, Ukraine remains in third place with an indicator of €12.843B (+ €371M, or +3% compared to the same period in 2022), second only to Brazil and the UK.
As noted, there have been changes in the structure of imports from Ukraine. A significant increase was registered in the supply of grain (+€1.2B, +39%), sugar (+€254M, +652%), and chicken (+€148M, +50%). At the same time, supplies of sunflower and protein crops to the EU decreased (-€762M, -29%), along with vegetable oils (-€688M, -29%).
Also, from July 1, 2023, to January 14, 2024, Ukraine exported 1.178 million tons of sunflower oil (+23% compared to the same period last year), the shipment of rapeseed oil increased by 100% to 93,190 tons.
Regarding the consumption of European agricultural exports, Ukraine ranks 14th with an indicator of €2.825B. This is the highest level in four years.
