Ukraine plans to start testing the electronic hryvnia this year.

The Ministry of Digitization wants to speed up the development process of the electronic hryvnia. The pilot project should start in 2024, said the Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov. According to him, an electronic hryvnia based on a Stellar product was recently presented. This inter-state digital currency protocol developed technology for the first transactions on the blockchain and how the movement of these funds can be traced, the minister clarified. Fedorov made an official request to the National Bank to hasten the development of the electronic hryvnia. According to the NBU, the bank had planned to launch tests in 2024, but now wants to launch a pilot this year rather than waiting until the next, the minister emphasized.
