Ukraine hopes to resolve the situation with the EU grain embargo, and the US promises to help with grain export.

Kyiv has presented the European Commission with an action plan for controlling the export of four groups of agricultural products, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.

The already approved procedure provides that goods exported to the five neighboring countries will first receive verification and approval from the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy. In addition, Ukraine will provide information and data on the export of specific agricultural products and information on the country of destination for export.

At the same time, Ukraine submitted a formal request to Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia for violation of World Trade Organization norms. “We are also starting an anti-discrimination investigation against the unfriendly actions of these countries in the trade sphere based on the statistics of 2023,” the prime minister said.

In addition, if Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia do not cancel the restrictions, Ukraine will introduce mirror measures against them.

Instead, the Polish media writes that the neighboring countries rejected the plan proposed by Ukraine to regulate agricultural exports.
