The government calculated that for EU membership, Ukraine must implement 2,739 acts of EU law, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said. According to him, Ukraine has analyzed about 28,000 acts of EU law for compliance with existing legislation. More than 23,000 EU laws, according to a preliminary assessment, do not need to be implementated during the negotiation process, 1,625 legal acts have already been completed.
At the same time, the Secretariat of the Energy Community published a report on the fulfillment of European obligations in the energy field among the community countries for 2023, including Ukraine. The report contains an assessment of Ukraine’s compliance with Energy Community norms from November 2022 to October 2023. Ukraine fulfills 59% of all obligations, the second best result after Serbia.
Ukraine’s progress in the Energy Markets and Integration cluster is estimated at 69%; Decarbonization of the Energy Sector – 44%; Ensuring Energy Security – 61%; Environmental Protection – 52%; Activity of Regulatory Bodies – 76%.
