Києву загрожує дефіцит на ринку нового житла: пропозиція скорочується, а нові проєкти плануються з обережністю.

Ukraine is working on a social housing project and plans to build 6,200 apartments this year; this is necessary for Ukrainians to return.

The pilot project from Ukraine’s Reconstruction Agency to provide social housing will begin this year. It envisages the construction of 6,200 apartments, the head of the agency, Serhiy Sukhomlyn, said at the ReBuild Ukraine conference. Social housing will be rented out or ownership will be transferred to specific population groups at an affordable, lower-than-market price. In total, 50,000 apartments will be built in the center and west of Ukraine in the project’s first stage. “This is social housing, which should, in particular, be an additional argument for people to return to Ukraine gradually,” said Sukhomlyn. For this, it is also necessary to work on ensuring the population’s basic needs. Therefore, the state agency continues to work on several more projects. These are focused on strengthening the energy sustainability of communities, replacing street lighting systems with energy-efficient ones, and installing solar power plants at critical infrastructure facilities.
