Ukraine is selling one of Europe's largest engine part factories, which supplies components to top European automakers.

The State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPFU) has announced an auction to privatize 100% of the authorized capital of Motordetal-Konotop (in the Sumy region), which is currently a profitable enterprise. The auction will take place on September 24 2025, with a starting price of ₴268.1M ($6.4M).

This factory is among the largest in Europe, producing cylinder liners for internal combustion engines. The enterprise includes an iron foundry and machining and auxiliary shops, employs over 600 people, and counts well-known clients such as Rolls-Royce, Scania, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo.

The proceeds from the sale will go to the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Russian Armed Aggression, aimed at restoring housing and critical infrastructure damaged in the war. In 2023, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court decided to seize assets owned by Federation Council senator Sergey Kalashnikov, making it state property.

One of these assets was the Motordetal-Konotop enterprise, which produces parts for automobiles, tractors, ships, diesel locomotives, and stationary internal combustion engines.
