The Ukraine market operator has developed a draft law to unify the electricity markets of Ukraine and the EU, said the company’s general director, Oleksandr Gavva. The main goal is to increase the security of the electricity supply.

The document provides for the definition of such concepts as SOR (a region within which dispatch management is carried out) and CCR (a region that includes the trade zone borders of neighboring states, for which the maximum possible export/import is calculated); and transmission system operator contractual relationships within the SOR and CCR regions.

It is also expected that state company Ukrenergo will be involved in the activities of the Regional Coordination Center (RCC), the definition of the role of the RCC in the electric energy market, and the tasks of the RCC. The developed draft law defines the list of pan-European rules that are mandatory for Ukrainian electricity market participants, the list of regional regulations, and the procedure for their adoption.
