Ukraine increased its cement production by 25% against the background of its looming reconstruction needs.
According to the results from January-June, enterprises of the Ukrcement association increased their cement production by 24.4% compared to the same period in 2023 – up to 3.799 million tons, the association reported.
“Despite the huge challenges of the war, the enterprises of the Association of Cement Manufacturers of Ukraine continue to adapt to new realities and produce strategically important products – cement,” the message reads.
In addition, during the specified period, the production of clinker (strong brick) increased by 12.7% compared to the same period’s indicator last year – up to 2.954 million tons.
It should be noted that the index of completed construction works according to the results of the first quarter in Ukraine increased by 40.3% compared to the same period in 2023.
At the same time, residential construction increased by 25.1% and non-residential construction by 34.4%. The share of new construction in total construction work was 46.7%, repairs – 25%, reconstruction and technical re-equipment – 28.3%.
