On May 17, Ukrainian drones successfully attacked the Rosneft oil refinery in Tuapse for the third time this year. The first attack in January stopping production for a month and a half. This attack forced the plant to stop operations due to damage to its liquefied hydrocarbon gas plant.

The Sevastopol substation in occupied Crimea was also damaged as a result of the UAV attack. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of 51 drones over Crimea, and the Black Sea Fleet neutralized six “unmanned Navy drones”. According to Russian authorities, 44 drones were intercepted and destroyed over Krasnodar territory in Russia.

More than 30 explosions thundered throughout Novorossiysk, where the Russian Black Sea Fleet has relocated from Crimea.

Moreover, on the night of May 19, Ukraine attacked the Sloviansk Refinery in the Kuban region, a military airfield near the town of Kushchevsk, as well as an oil depot in Vyborg near St. Petersburg. The airfield had dozens of Russian military jets stationed there. After the strike, the Sloviansk Oil Refinery stopped production, and drones also damaged three fuel tanks at the Vyborg oil depot.

On the same day, the Ukrainian military successfully used ATACMS rockets to destroy the Russian Federation’s Kovrovets, a minesweeper.
