Ukraine has stopped the Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region and is planning a counteroffensive.

Ukraine has already received weapons from the new US aid package and negotiations for long-term security guarantees are ongoing.

NATO believes that Ukraine can launch a counteroffensive and believes in its ultimate victory over Russia.

Ukrainian troops stopped the Russian offensive in the northern Kharkiv region and are already inflicting fire damage on enemy forces. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are planning offensive actions, said Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff Ihor Prokhorenko.

Intelligence from the British Ministry of Defense claims that the Russian occupying forces have not achieved the stated goal of Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin to create a “buffer zone” in the north of the Kharkiv region.

“The front in the north of the Kharkiv Region has probably stabilized, and Russian territorial control is fragmented and not unified. Russia’s successes in this direction will be limited, as the initial momentum of Russian troops was restrained by Ukrainian resistance,” the review says.

However, according to President Zelenskyy, Russia is gathering another group of troops near the Ukrainian border in preparation for an offensive 90 kilometers northwest of Kharkiv.
