new rules for crossing the western border

From September 1, cars and trucks will be escorted to various checkpoints on the western border. This is necessary to solve the problem with traffic congestion, the State Customs Service reported. So, beginning September 1, cars weighing up to 7.5 tons will be allowed to pass through four points. In particular, smaller checkpoints will be opened for passenger cars: Ustylug – Zosyn, Hrushiv – Budomezh, Smilnytsia – Krostsenko, and Ugryniv – Dolgobychiv. Cars weighing more than 7.5 tons will be allowed at the other four checkpoints: Rava-Ruska – Khrebenne, Krakivets – Korchova, Sheghini – Medika, and Yagodin – Dorogusk. According to the State Customs Service, congested truck traffic occurs due to the redirection resulting from export flows and migration processes.
