Together with his British counterpart David Lammy, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that Ukraine can provide its underground gas storage facilities to store American gas, which will help enhance Europe’s energy security.
“You know that Ukraine has exceptionally robust underground gas storage facilities, and we share common interests for mutually beneficial cooperation while simultaneously fortifying Europe’s energy security. This gas will be sufficient if pumped into our storage facilities, enabling Ukraine to be a guarantor of energy security in Europe,” Sybiha noted.
Additionally, the minister mentioned Ukraine’s significant potential in facilitating the purchase of LNG from the US. Moreover, Sybiha highlighted the shared interests and opportunities for American businesses, particularly in Ukraine’s reconstruction.
“This will be one of the largest projects of this century and a significant opportunity for our allies.”
