The process of synchronizing the energy systems of Ukraine and the EU has been fully completed, and the capacity for importing electricity from Europe has been increased to 1,700 MW, reported the head of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi.
“The EU operator, the Continental European TSOs, officially confirmed this at the meeting in Brussels“, he announced.
As Kudrytskyi clarified, ENTSO-E recognizes that Ukrenergo has implemented key technical measures necessary to permanently synchronize the Ukrainian and European energy systems. ENTSO-E also increased the capacity for exporting electricity from Europe to Ukraine and Moldova by 500 MW, up to 1,700 MW.
“This is a significant contribution to the stability of our energy system during cold weather and possible enemy attacks,” said the head of Ukrenergo.
As a reminder, Ukraine urgently joined the European energy system in March 2022, after the start of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
