The government has appointed Semen Kryvonos as the new director of the NABU, a person with zero experience in investigating corruption, the non-governmental organization, the Anti-Corruption Center, reported. At the same time, according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, with the appointment of the NABU director, Ukraine has fulfilled all seven recommendations from the EU, which were determined upon receipt of candidate status. Shmyhal added his thanks for the selection of the NABU director, and the state receives a fully formed, operational, and independent anti-corruption infrastructure. At the same time, the Anti-Corruption Center noted that the recommendation concerning the Constitutional Court remains unfulfilled. Thus, it is still too early to claim the implementation of all recommendations.
