As Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Serhiy Derkach stated: “Ukraine has implemented the plan we agreed to with Poland. However, the protesters have a few more demands for the Polish government.”
According to him, EU and Polish authorities confirmed that canceling the liberalization of transportation agreements is impossible. He also said that the amount of bilateral cargo transportation by Polish carriers has decreased by only 5% compared to the period before the full-scale invasion.
“That’s why their claims that Ukrainian carriers have completely ‘killed’ the Polish transportation market are untrue,” the official emphasized.
At the same time, in November 2023 alone Ukraine lost out on nearly ₴10B in customs duties due to the border blockade.
As of January 8, several border crossings are still blocked, and about 2,000 trucks are in queues at the Ukraine-Poland border.
