Ukraine has completed all necessary work to launch the biomethane market in Ukraine.

NCRECP, the state commission, has allowed the supply of biomethane to the gas transportation system of Ukraine, according to the State Energy Efficiency Agency. Thus, on August 2, the energy regulator adopted a resolution, On Amendments to the Code of the Gas Transportation System and the Code of Gas Distribution Systems. It regulates the issue of biomethane supply in the network. It is expected to increase the molar fraction of oxygen content in natural gas from 0.02 mol. %: up to 0.2 mol. % to allow biomethane introduction to the gas transportation system, and up to 1 mol. % for the introduction of biomethane to the gas distribution systems. On July 22, the government approved the procedure for the biomethane register’s function. Thus, the state has completed all preparatory work to launch the biomethane market in Ukraine.
