The Minister of European Integration of Ukraine, Olha Stefanishyna, said that after several meetings between Ukrainian and Polish authorities, there is an understanding that the farmers’ protests in Poland will continue for a long time.
“For our part, we showed a certain systematicity in our steps. We unblocked the Black Sea and have been exporting goods by sea and through the Danube River. We also opened additional border crossing points, particularly with Hungary, to speed up exports,” the minister said.
She added that to solve the situation with the blockade, Ukraine is ready to implement long-term measures related to the adaptation of legislation in the agrarian and transport policy field.
“We hope that the Polish authorities will be able to find solutions to settle the situation inside their country,” Stefanishyna said.
She gave her assurance that the situation in Ukraine is entirely under control, that the state complies with its obligations, and does not create any risk for the Polish market.
