State nuclear energy company Energoatom has decided to apply to the International Court of Arbitration for compensation for the damage caused by Russia to the Zaporizhzhia NPP and other objects of the region’s energy infrastructure.
Energoatom handed the representatives of the Russian Federation a notice of the relevant claims. Still, if the dispute is not resolved peacefully the company will refer the relevant dispute to international arbitration.
The UAH 32B in damage is primarily to the property and infrastructure of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP and other separate units of the enterprise. The total amount of loss and damage to Energoatom by Russia will be determined after the deoccupation of the ZNNP, the return of actual control over all property to the Ukrainian operator, and its full inspection and inventory.
