The head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Taras Vysotskyi said: “Ukraine can potentially produce up to 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year from available waste, but this would require a fairly significant investment of $20B or more.”
He called the production of bioethanol and biogas one of the critical areas of agricultural product processing, in which cooperation between Ukraine and the EU can be particularly effective.
“In the world, the consumption of amino acids, yeast, and various plant proteins is also growing at a rapid pace – 3-5% per year. The market’s demand is much greater than the supply,” Vysotskyi said, adding that to establish such substantial production in the EU will require seven to ten years of negotiations.
Thanks to the latest regulatory simplifications in Ukraine, it was possible to shorten the permit procedures, if not to weeks, then to months.
