It is now possible to import gas to Ukraine from LNG terminals in Greece, Croatia, Poland, and Lithuania, said General Director of GTS Ukraine Operator LLC Serhiy Makogon. He notes that the OGTSU doubled the guaranteed capacity for gas imports to Ukraine last year, which currently stands at 54 million cubic meters per day. Guaranteed import capacities from Hungary, at 8 million cubic meters per day, and Poland, with 4 million cubic meters per day, were created for the first time, and capacities from Slovakia were increased from 27 to 42 million cubic meters per day. Also, according to Makogon, Ukraine is becoming a critical gas transport hub for Eastern and Southern Europe, providing gas transit from Poland to Hungary through Ukraine’s gas transmission capacity of more than 1 million cubic meters per day.
