Ukraine calls on the UN and the EU to send observers to the Kakhovka HPP.

Ukraine has called on the UN, the European Union, and other organizations to organize an international monitoring mission to the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant in the occupied portion of the Kherson region, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said. The prime minister stated that, according to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russian troops are preparing for another terrorist attack in the Kherson region territory. It is anticipated that the Russians will attempt to mine the dam and aggregates of the Kakhovka HPP. “This terrorist attack can potentially lead to thousands of victims and the flooding of dozens of settlements. That is why we appeal to the UN, the EU, and other organizations to organize an international monitoring mission to the Kakhovka HPP.”
