Ukraine approves a plan for reforms necessary to join NATO.

The Commission on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration approved the draft of the adapted Annual National Program (ANP) for 2024. This document defines the criteria for Ukraine’s eligibility for NATO membership.

“Allies positively evaluated the approach we proposed and gave generalized recommendations to the project, which were taken into account by the Commission,” said Olga Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration.

Ukraine’s key efforts will be focused on the following:

  1. effective control over security and defense forces
  2. ensuring transparency and accountability in the security and defense sectors
  3. transformation of defense policy and planning
  4. modernization of management and control systems
  5. improvement of the strategic communications system
  6. digital transformation, cyber security, information security, and information exchange
  7. transformation of the defense industry and introduction of modern technologies
  8. resource management
  9. expansion of opportunities for rehabilitation and reintegration of war veterans
