During a press conference in Kyiv with the president of the European Commission, Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on neighboring countries and the EU states to refrain from any decisions regarding trade with Ukraine without consultation.
He emphasized that any restrictions on Ukrainian exports are unacceptable because they strengthen the aggressor’s capabilities. Therefore, Ukraine expects decisive action from the EU and the removal of all trade restrictions as soon as possible.
In her turn, Ursula von der Leyen noted that the European Commission’s immediate priority is the unhindered transit of Ukrainian grain to the EU at the lowest possible price. As a result, the EU and Ukraine will create a joint coordination platform to ensure full functionality of the elements of the European solidarity routes through which Ukrainian agricultural goods are sent.
