A new border crossing will finally appear at Adamchuky – Zberezhe, on the border in the Volyn region, the State Border Service said.
Constructing a crossing point for cars and pedestrians should relieve other crossings. The project envisages the construction of a bridge over the Zahidny Bug River for both motorists and pedestrians.
This project has been discussed for at least ten years. Its relevance increased significantly after the start of the war, with massive amounts of Ukrainian exports crossing the western border, in particular with Poland.
Today, checkpoints in Poland serve 53% of Ukraine’s land cargo transportation, with Romania at 18%, Moldova at 14%, Hungary at 10%, and Slovakia at 5%.
