Trump: Ukraine reclaiming a portion of its occupied territory is on the table during the current US-Russia negotiations.

US President Donald Trump stated on February 24 that he considers it realistic for Ukraine to reclaim some of its territories that are currently occupied by Russia, although it will be challenging. He clarified that this matter is part of the ongoing negotiations with Russia, which have recently commenced.

“We’ll see. A lot of land has been seized, so we need to see how it unfolds. This is part of the negotiations,” he remarked.

It should be noted that Trump did not dismiss the possibility of a trip to Moscow, but not on May 9, unless the current situation is resolved. As well, during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the White House, the American president refrained from labeling Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin as a “dictator,” stating that he “does not use such words lightly”. Trump also cautioned that an unresolved conflict between the two countries “could lead to World War III”.

However, he emphasized: “I believe the war in Ukraine could end in the near future, within a few weeks, if we are smart.”
