About 50,000 pilgrims are expected to arrive in Uman in central Ukraine to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, from September 6 to 8. Some 27,757 pilgrims from 10 countries had already registered on the first day, the press service of the State Emergency Service has reported. All of them have had to meet pandemic safety requirements. In addition, 11 police officers from Israel have been deployed to assist local law enforcement officers.
