There will be no food shortage in Ukraine due to the war,

as stated by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Taras Vysotsky. “With the damages to poultry farm facilities, we are talking about reducing exports of eggs, however, there will be no deficit in the domestic market. The situation is similar with poultry and milk,” said Vysotsky. He noted that the losses in poultry and milk production are 10-15%, which also will not lead to a shortage of these products in the domestic market. According to the Deputy Minister, “The pessimistic forecast is that Ukraine will lose 30% of its gross production of crops this year. However, this is not critical, as we used only about 30-40% of grain and oilseeds for domestic consumption,” Vysotsky said. He stressed that 70% of arable land would be enough to meet domestic and export demand.
