The White House warns that money and time to help Ukraine is running out.

The US Congress has found a compromise to finance aid to Ukraine.

However, Congress can still approve the latest Ukrainian aid package by the end of 2023. White House Budget Director Shalanda Young issued her warning in a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson and other congressional leaders.

“I want to be very clear: Without action by Congress, by the end of the year, we will run out of resources to buy more weapons and equipment for Ukraine and to provide equipment from the US military stockpile. There is no magic source of funding to meet this moment. We are out of money – and almost out of time,” she said.

Back in October, the White House submitted a request to Congress for $106B to fund the protection of its borders, support for Taiwan, and military aid to Ukraine and Israel. Over $61B was intended for Ukraine. However, Congress has not yet approved the funding.

As Republican Senator James Lankford reported, Congress could take until the end of the year to authorize aid for Ukraine and Israel.
