The White House positively reacted to Speaker Johnson's idea to split aid to Ukraine and Israel.

US President Joe Biden’s administration is ready to consider the initiative from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, that would divide international aid from the US into four separate parts, including aid to Ukraine, White House spokesman for national security John Kirby said.

He stressed that officials need to read the full text of all the bills before the White House can support Johnson’s initiative. Kirby states that, with such a proposal, the speaker can help the Biden administration to provide assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and the Indo-Pacific region now.

According to The Hill, Democrats in the House of Representatives are ready to accept Johnson’s idea for some of the bills. Johnson himself said that the Republican Party has decided to vote on foreign aid bills separately, but there is no final decision yet.

Meanwhile, after a secret briefing on the situation in Ukraine, the US House Intelligence Committee called on Congress to immediately vote on aid for Kyiv.
